Carefill is a prescription medication primarily used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) and signs of an enlarged prostate. It helps men to achieve and maintain an erection sufficient for sexual activity when physical or psychological factors interfere with natural performance.
HOW IT WORKS
Carefill contains Tadalafil, a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. It works by relaxing the smooth muscles and increasing blood flow to specific areas of the body, particularly the penis. This increased blood flow helps to achieve and sustain an erection in response to direct sexual stimulation.
HOW TO TAKE
Take one tablet at least 30 to 45 minutes before planned sexual activity. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water, with or without food. Do not take more than one tablet in a 24-hour period.
MISSED DOSE
If you are taking this medication on an as-needed basis, a missed dose is not applicable. If prescribed for daily use, take it as soon as you remember. Never double up or take two doses at once to make up for a missed tablet, as this significantly increases the risk of adverse side effects.
SIDE EFFECTS
Most side effects are mild and temporary. Potential side effects can include headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, flushing, and a stuffy or runny nose. In rare cases, seek immediate medical attention if you experience an erection lasting longer than 4 hours (priapism) or sudden vision loss.
WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS
Carefill is strictly contraindicated for anyone taking organic nitrates (such as Nitroglycerin) or guanylate cyclase stimulators, as the combination can cause a life-threatening, sudden drop in blood pressure. Discuss any pre-existing heart conditions or low blood pressure with your doctor prior to use.
Tadalafil should be used with caution if you have severe kidney or liver impairment. Your doctor must evaluate your overall health profile to determine if your heart can safely handle the extra strain of sexual activity.
Limit alcohol consumption while taking this medication, as excessive alcohol can increase your heart rate, lower your blood pressure, and worsen side effects like dizziness or headaches.
